Second meeting of Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear in 2025 took place amid celebrations of the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live
The three remnants of the Nirvana performed another special performance. Last Friday, 14, a special that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the American TV show Saturday Night Live counted on Dave Grohl (battery), Krist Novoselic (low) and Pat Smear (guitar) alongside Post Malone.
The singer/rapper had already promoted, in 2020, a live broadcast playing only songs from the group led by the longing Kurt Cobain. At the time, it was accompanied by Travis Barker (BLINK-182) on the battery.
Now the 29 -year -old has performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York, along with the trio representing the band in sporadic events. The most recent occasion had been on January 30, when Grohl, Novoselic and Smear took to the Kia Forum of Los Angeles stage for a surprise set at the FIREAID charity event, along with St. Vincent, Kim Gordon (Sonic Youth), Joan Jett and Violet Grohldaughter of Dave.

The event that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Saturday Night Live brought a number of other special guests. Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam) performed a joint performance with The Rootswhile David Byrne joined the Arcade Fire and Robyn, Miley Cyrus sang with Brittany Howard (Alabama Shakes), Snoop Dogg and Jelly Rollamong many others.
The special was not transmitted in Brazil. In the United States, he was exhibited by Peacock.
Nirvana meetings
Although the meetings are not frequent, the Nirvana It usually makes appearances from time to time. In 2012 they recorded “Cut Me disappears slack” with Paul McCartney.
