One of the cases took place in front of the main stage of the event; PM and Civil Police said that safety is a responsibility of the event

Several people used social networks to report being victims of robberies and thefts inside the City of Rock last Friday, 2, the first day of Rock in Rio.
One of the reports attracted attention due to the location and violence, the victim allegedly being robbed in front of the Mundo Stage, the main venue of the festival’s performances, under the threat of a white weapon (knife or pocket knife).
In another account, a woman claimed to have suffered a robbery attempt. A robber attempted to take the victim’s cell phone, which she reacted to and, with the help of friends, she was able to retrieve the device.
Look at the reports:
Dude, I have no words to congratulate the @rock in Rio for the unique experience that was given to me. Probably the first person in history to be robbed (at gunpoint, of course) in front of the World Stage. Seriously, I’m a lucky guy.

A girl picked up my phone on the Itaú stage at the end of the Dead Fish show. She was with 3 other guys, but my group was bigger and those who have friends have it all! I grabbed her by the arm and yelled at the security guards (who were great!). I recovered the phone and they were taken away.
Activities, guys! It’s nice!

Safety inside the festival
Sought after by the Terra report, the Rio de Janeiro State Civil Police said they had prepared a security plan for the days of the festival, but stressed that “security in the City of Rock is the responsibility of the organizers”.
The Military Police said they were operating in the outdoor area of the festival with apparent law enforcement. According to the note, the premier of the city of Rio de Janeiro organized a force of 570 police officers and 55 vehicles. The PM also stressed that “the security services and the search for access to the City of Rock are the responsibility of the organization of the event”.
The Rock in Rio organization did not answer questions in the report.
