Brazilian singer Ney Matogrosso opened general ticket sales on Monday for his 85 Years of Daring national tour scheduled across Brazil in 2027.
Sales for the tour, titled 85 anos de Ousadia in Portuguese, began on August 31 at 12:00 PM online and at 1:00 PM at official physical box offices. The celebrated performer will play ten dates across the country during the run, culminating in a grand finale at the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro on December 18, 2027.
The initial ticket release covers five major performance locations, starting in São Paulo in January 2027 and moving through Curitiba, Olinda, Belo Horizonte, and Rio de Janeiro. Organizer statements from a press conference hosted by the singer confirmed that five additional concert dates will be announced in the near future.
In a statement announcing the tour, Matogrosso emphasized that the upcoming performances do not mark his retirement from the stage. He said that age and years of career experience had no impact on his work, adding that he remains committed to touring, enjoys performing directly in front of live audiences, and loves to dance.
Matogrosso, born Ney de Souza Pereira in 1941, is one of Brazil's most distinctive musical figures, renowned for his counterculture stage persona, theatrical costumes, and extraordinary countertenor vocal range. He first rose to national fame in the early 1970s as the lead vocalist of the glam rock and MPB group Secos e Molhados before establishing a prolific solo career spanning more than five decades.

The visual identity for the 85 Years of Daring tour is being directed by American photographer David LaChapelle. Matogrosso is the first Brazilian musician to be photographed by the internationally acclaimed artist, who agreed to collaborate on the project after being captivated by Homem com H, the biographical feature film detailing Matogrosso's life and career.
