Actress Nicole Kidman told British Vogue that friends warned her career would end when she married fellow actor Tom Cruise at age 22.

The Oscar-winning star recalled how people around her insisted she would become nothing more than Cruise's wife, but she chose to follow her feelings regardless.

Kidman said: "I'm like, 'I don't care. I'm in love. I want to be married.' And then I was his 'wife' and they were like, 'See, we told you.' I'm like, 'So what? I wasn't meant to marry the man I love? Of course I'll throw my career away. I don't care'."

Before meeting Cruise in 1990 on the set of the action movie Days Of Thunder, Kidman was primarily a minor actress in Australia. Her early roles included the teen film BMX Bandits and the outback drama Bush Christmas, in which her character saves a sheep farm.

Far from putting her career on hold, Kidman starred in 13 movies during her 10-year marriage to Cruise. Her credits from that period include the thriller Eyes Wide Shut alongside her husband, as well as Batman Forever.

Immediately after their marriage ended 25 years ago, Kidman starred in director Baz Luhrmann's musical film Moulin Rouge!, cementing her status as a global superstar. Commentators have noted that her success came alongside her high-profile marriage to the Mission Impossible star, a topic she continues to revisit in interviews.

Kate Moss Mediterranean Holiday and Eclipse Recollections

Supermodel Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Moss were pictured together during a summer outing in the Mediterranean Sea.

The sight of Kate Moss and her daughter Lila frolicking in the Med brought back happy memories of Mum and me splashing around in the ocean on family holidays, writes Amanda Platell

The mother and daughter trip evoked memories of family seaside holidays in Australia, where mothers and daughters swam together wearing matching flowered bathing caps while male relatives pursued separate activities.

The summer season also brought a rare solar eclipse, marking a 62-year wait since a previous eclipse opportunity in Australia in 1964. During that childhood event, school pupils made pinhole projectors out of Coco Pops boxes, only for unruly classmates to break rules and ruin the viewing equipment.

Burnham further proposed housing asylum seekers in middle-class residential areas as a core policy principle.

School Exam Success and Royal Film Performance

Michaela Community School, located in a disadvantaged area of London, reported that 70 per cent of its A-level grades were awarded at A or A*.

Meanwhile, in entertainment news, the production company founded by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle released Cookie Queens, a film centered on fundraising girl scouts.

The project was outperformed at the United States box office by a compilation movie featuring skateboarding cats, drawing humor from feline enthusiasts who noted the royal couple's lack of cat-focused ventures.
