Ukrainian singer Olya Polyakova has revealed that she is unable to take her 15-year-old daughter out of Ukraine because the teenager refuses to leave home despite constant military attacks on Kyiv.
Polyakova explained that her younger daughter, Alisa, had previously lived in Great Britain during the initial phase of Russia's full-scale invasion. However, the teenager later persuaded her mother to let her return home to Ukraine.
Speaking on the Ukrainian television project Alone with Glamour, the pop star said she was searching for a safe location for her child as military strikes continue to target the capital. She noted that Alisa has adamantly rejected any plans to relocate abroad or move away from their house.
Teenager refuses to leave home
Polyakova urged other parents of teenagers to stay strong and show patience, saying that parents must simply love their children and trust that the difficult stage will pass. She said she could not leave the country without her child and felt powerless to force her daughter to move.
The singer shared that Alisa had asked her mother whether she intended to stuff her into a sack at 15 years old. Polyakova added that she was unable to leave the teenager behind on her own, leaving the family in Kyiv.
Family background and elder daughter
Polyakova is one of Ukraine's most prominent pop singers and television personalities, known for her wide-ranging music career and frequent appearances on major national broadcasts. Her family remains based in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital, which has faced repeated air attacks since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February 2022.
While Alisa remains at home, Polyakova's elder daughter, Masha, lives in the United States with her husband, Eden Passarelli. Masha is currently pursuing a higher education degree in music in America, having recently marked one year of marriage to her foreign husband.
