Perrie Edwards has announced the death of her beloved dog Hatchi, saying her heart is completely broken after 14 years with the Pomeranian.

The 33 year old Little Mix star shared a series of photographs of the dog, including pictures with her four year old son Axel and snaps taken on the set of photoshoots.

"My Hatchi," Edwards wrote alongside the images. "14 years with you, and somehow it still could never have been enough."

She described the dog as her fur baby, little shadow and constant companion, adding that he was one of the greatest gifts she had ever received.

"You were there beside me through every chapter and every milestone of my life," she wrote. "Through the happiest moments and the hardest ones."

Edwards recalled how Hatchi would comfort her, licking away her tears when she cried and making her laugh when she needed it most. She said he would look at her every morning with a smile that made her feel like his whole world.

Life on tour

"We lived so much life together," the pop star continued, noting that Hatchi accompanied Little Mix on tour and travelled the world with her.

She remembered taking him on family holidays to Portugal and how he would sit in top restaurants eating steak like a little prince.

"Wherever life took me, you were part of it," she said.

Edwards expressed hope that the dog knew how loved he was, and that she always wanted to give him the happiest and most beautiful life possible.

"You gave me 14 years of unconditional love, loyalty and memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life," she added.

The singer said the house and her heart already feel emptier without him, admitting she is heartbroken knowing she will no longer see him in the morning or have him following her around.

Constant companion

"Thank you for growing up with me," Edwards wrote. "Thank you for being there for every version of me."

She thanked the dog for his complete love and for being her best friend for 14 years, saying she would choose him in every lifetime.

"Sleep peacefully my beautiful boy," she concluded. "I hope wherever you are, there's endless steak waiting for you. I will love you and miss you forever, Hatchi. My first baby, my fur baby, my little companion. A piece of my heart went with you."

Family life

Edwards originally adopted Hatchi in November 2012 with Zayn Malik, her fiancé at the time. Following their split, she kept the dog, and he remained a constant presence throughout her career with the girlband and her transition into motherhood.

The pop star married footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in a picturesque Catholic church in the Portuguese village of Estoi in June. She wore a form skimming Dana Harel lace gown with a Bardot neckline for the ceremony.

The couple welcomed their second child, a daughter named Alanis, in January. She is a younger sister to Axel, who was born in 2021.

Speaking about her relationship with Oxlade-Chamberlain on Jamie Laing's Good Company podcast shortly before their wedding, Edwards described their bond as safe and calm.

"It's being able to approach that person with anything and know that they'll support you," she said, adding that they always have each other's backs. "It's a healthy love and I can't explain it. It just feels nice."
