The singer explained that she had to skip several therapy sessions to give everything to her songwriting, adding that the new record is much closer to release than her fans might expect.

Rosé described the creative process as an intense emotional journey, using composition as a way to transform personal experiences and feelings into new material.

Rosé, born Roseanne Park in New Zealand and raised in Australia, rose to global prominence as a member of South Korean girl group BLACKPINK. The quartet, formed under YG Entertainment, is one of the most commercially successful K-pop acts in international music history.

Intimate songwriting and therapy

The artist previously linked her creative work to mental health during the preparation of her debut solo studio album, Rosie, which was published in December 2024. She explained that writing her debut record functioned as a form of therapy during a vulnerable stage of her solo career.

With her second studio album, Rosé has once again placed lyrics at the center of her creative process. She noted that her songs serve as a personal space to express thoughts, relationships, and emotions that ultimately reach millions of listeners worldwide.

Her solo debut achieved major international success, anchored by hit tracks including APT., a high-profile collaboration with American singer Bruno Mars. The positive reception allowed her to build a distinct artistic identity separate from the collective dimension of BLACKPINK.

Artistic identity and upcoming release

Developing a solo career has given Rosé greater control over her own stories and the way she translates personal experiences into music. Her upcoming second album represents a natural continuation of the intimate storytelling she began on Rosie.

Although Rosé has kept specific details of the new project secret, she confirmed that work continues to move forward. She indicated that supporters can expect new clues soon as the album draws much closer than it appears.
