Russian pop singer Slava, real name Anastasia Slanevskaya, accused fellow artist Larisa Dolina of attempting to deceive television audiences to rebuild her declining popularity.
In an emotional video posted to her personal Instagram account, Slava said that Dolina tried to win back fans by making frequent appearances on entertainment television projects. Slava stated that the strategy failed to work because television viewers cannot be fooled by artificial attempts to regain fame.
Slava explained that a concert hall is won purely through truth. She said that an artist can never deceive the human soul, describing the human soul as music itself regardless of how hard a performer tries to manipulate public perception.
The singer also launched a broader attack on forgotten Russian performers, calling them complete scum for treating ordinary people with disdain. She noted that an artist who orders staff around with disrespect is total scum, adding that almost all mainstream Russian performers behave in that exact manner.
Feud over real estate fraud tears
The public outburst is not the first time Slava has targeted Dolina. Slava previously described Dolina's tears surrounding a high profile apartment fraud scandal as a professional acting technique. Slava stated at the time that she did not believe in the sincerity of her colleague, who had fallen victim to real estate scammers.

Slava published her video message on Instagram. The social media platform is banned in Russia, where parent company Meta has been designated as an extremist organization by federal authorities.
