Spider-Man: Brand New Day Hits $2B Box Office in 3 Weeks

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has grossed over $2 billion at the global box office in just three weeks, starring Tom Holland and Zendaya.

The latest installment in the Marvel superhero franchise reached a worldwide total of $2.022 billion, consolidating its position as one of the biggest cinematic releases of 2026. The rapid achievement places the film among the highest-grossing theatrical productions in history.

With its $2.022 billion box office tally, the new film officially passed the $1.952 billion earned by Spider-Man: No Way Home in 2021. The achievement makes it the top-earning release in the history of the Spider-Man film franchise.

The movie also recorded a record-breaking domestic performance during its debut in the United States. It accumulated $168 million at the American box office, surpassing Avengers: Endgame for the biggest opening in US history.

Ahead of the movie's launch in theaters, lead actors Tom Holland and Zendaya sent an emotional greeting to fans in Peru, asking how the country was doing prior to the premiere.

Elite Group of Multi-Billion-Dollar Hits

The milestone makes Spider-Man: Brand New Day only the eighth film in history to cross the $2 billion threshold worldwide. The exclusive list of multi-billion-dollar hits is led by James Cameron's 2009 sci-fi blockbuster Avatar, which stands at nearly $2.9 billion in total earnings.

Marvel Studios' 2019 superhero film Avengers: Endgame holds the second spot overall with $2.799 billion, followed by Cameron's 2022 sequel Avatar: The Way of Water with $2.320 billion.

The remaining members of the eight-film club are the Chinese animated hit sequel Ne Zha 2, James Cameron's 1997 romance Titanic, Marvel's 2018 crossover Avengers: Infinity War, and Lucasfilm's 2015 blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Franchise Background and Legacy

Tom Holland first starred as Peter Parker in 2016 before leading a standalone Spider-Man trilogy alongside Zendaya, who plays MJ. Their previous feature, Spider-Man: No Way Home, held the franchise box office record for five years after generating $1.952 billion during its 2021 run.

The Spider-Man franchise is based on the Marvel Comics character created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. The current film continues the theatrical partnership between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios in bringing the superhero to global audiences.
