Lupine part 3: subscribers notice an error in the first episode

Lupine makes his return to Netflix

Lupine, the French series broadcast on Netflix, is inspired (as the name suggests) by the adventures of Arsène Lupin, the famous gentleman thief imagined by Maurice Leblanc. Since its launch in January 2021, it has enjoyed resounding success around the world, partly thanks to Omar Sy and his global stardom in the lead role.

The third part, available from October 5, immerses us in a series of exciting events. Assane Diop, after outsmarting his opponents in previous seasons, is forced to live in hiding, far from his family. Claire, his ex-partner and their son Raoul are constantly harassed by paparazzi and monitored by police. The intrigue intensifies with a daring burglary at a prestigious jewelry store on Place Vendôme, where the coveted black pearl is stolen.

The series then takes us into the world of city bosses, with wild poker games, guns and a spectacular armored van robbery. Another memorable theft occurs during a reception in a sumptuous castle, where a diamond bracelet is stolen. Alongside these events, the series offers us flashbacks that transport us to 1998, during the football World Cup, where we discover crucial moments from Assane’s past. Also, a key character appears in this season, who played a significant role in Assane’s life.

Although it once again ranks at the top of Netflix’s new releases for the month of October, this part 3 could unfortunately see its audience plummet quickly.

In the first episode there is a hidden error

While watching episode 1 of Lupine part 3, many subscribers living in the Paris region cringed. In fact, when Assane steals the briefcase containing the famous Black Pearl in the subway, it should be at the Trocadéro stationwhich is located on lines 6 and 9 of the Paris metro (the beginning of the scene shows the man with the briefcase getting off at this metro entrance).

However, in the next shot, when we find him on the platform, followed by Assane, the station where they are located (a priori Olympiades) is a station on line 14 of the metro, which is an automated line, and on which the Trocadéro station is not located. During their subway journey, they are on line 14 (the color code is purple, while stops 6 and 9 are green). Assane then leaves Pyramides station (which is on line 14).

Obviously the choice of this location is above all cinematic as line 14 is much more beautiful to film than lines 6 and 9. Only Parisians will have noticed this small mistake (after all, tourists who think that even the train station Trocadéro is beautiful and will immediately become disillusioned).

In an episode of Part 1, a major brand noticed another inconsistency.
