Goyo : a success for the Argentine drama
Sometimes it’s easy to predict the success of some programs on Netflix. HOW Super Mario Bros. The Movie which logically attracted massive subscribers since it went online on July 5. But that same day, the platform added an Argentine romantic drama to its catalog. Named Goyoa place has been created in the top 10 most viewed films currently on Netflix Francein fourth position. And the same goes for at least a dozen other countries. Overall, in the week from July 1 to 7 (so in just two days), the film has accumulated 3.2 million views. A great launch for this Argentine production, which is understandable.
In fact, Goyo meets the demands of the romantic comedy while bringing it a touch of originality representing an autistic character. This is the case of Goyo, this guide at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, who has a passion for Van Gogh. Autistic, he follows a very precise routine and leads a discreet daily life. But his life is turned upside down when Eva is hired as a security guard at the museum. Goyo falls in love with her. Only the latter no longer believes in love and her self-esteem is at rock bottom. Nothing new but comforting
In the casting of Goyodirected by Marcos Carnevale, we find a surprising cast with Nicolas Furtado and Nancy Duplaa. Surprising because for once a romantic comedy has an elderly woman as the protagonist. Accustomed to soap operasthe actress is 54 years old while her colleague, seen in particular in Banditsis 36 years old. But the film wants to be open and question the different ways of loving. I finished watching #Goyo on Netflix and it’s a bandage for the heart. The film presents a touching love story between Goyo and Eva that transcends differences, inviting us to reflect on diversity, inclusion and the transformative power of love.

Goyo on Netflix is a sweet, light and tender drama. Yes, it is very predictable, nothing new and not perfect. But it is a delicate and touching story.
It is true that some traits of autism have been taken to the extreme, but the film itself is fantastic. Masterful performance by Nicolás Furtado, and what about Nancy Dupláa. A beautiful story
I’ve loved Argentine cinema and series for a year now, but Goyo was the highlight. It’s tender, beautiful, with impressive performances, and it’s a film that touches the soul.
