Despite the CBS crime drama Criminal minds completed just two years ago, it is a Criminal minds the revival began in early 2021, just a year after the series ended. After the roller coaster, will it be them or not? Criminal minds revival has had in recent months, Paramount + recently made the revival official and now star Joe Mantegna talks about what it was like to get back to work on BAU (and share photos to begin with).
Joe Mantegna, who has long played David Rossi on the franchise, spoke with WGN radius on his career and on the upcoming and highly anticipated Criminal minds Renaissance. The topic surfaced after host Bob Sirott mentioned seeing a marathon at Sundance and Mantegna expressed enthusiasm for returning to work with friends and co-stars:
Let’s solve it again. We started last Tuesday, we’re back, we’ll be at Paramount +. We have just started season 16 after a two year hiatus. We are all proud to be back. It’s a good group, a great group. I am happy to be back and we can’t wait to see new episodes. Our fan base is wonderful all over the world, and I think that’s what helped us get back on our feet.
It’s really exciting to know that the cast is back to work and everything seems to be going well so far. Although not everyone will return for the Criminal minds revival, season 16 is sure to be something to look forward to Lie C has remained popular on the air since its demise on CBS. (It’s also reassuring to know that the series is finally rolling, as it felt like the Criminal minds the awakening had died in the water.)

The image surfaced just days after co-star Paget Brewster shared her photos in preparation for the revival, showing off Emily Prentiss’ new hairstyle. Despite the photos, not much information about the reboot has been revealed, although fans should expect something a little different. Criminal minds than the CBS series.
Characters will keep track of one case per season, rather than per episode or for certain episodes. With everyone not returning, especially Matthew Gray Gubler and Daniel Henney, there is sure to be a void in the bullpen. But there should still be a lot to expect.
In fact, it should be interesting to see how the revival holds up to the original series and where the characters will be in their lives after the revival. Criminal minds series finale in 2020.
