This operation is considered one of the favorites of stars: why is it easier to do it in Russia than in the West

This transformation operation is popular with world stars and ordinary people. Thanks to her, you can achieve the figure of your dreams. But in the West, these patients are subject to a strict condition. It is less common in our clinics.

We are talking about bariatric surgery – a surgical intervention during which the size of the stomach is reduced. In most cases, only such a drastic option prevents weight gain: when it comes to people with a strong tendency to be overweight, who have tried unsuccessfully – and more than once – to lose weight weight and maintain their weight.

Many stars have told about their experience with bariatrics, who lost weight thanks to this by several tens (or even 100 or more) kilograms. It is not surprising that, at the suggestion of celebrities, this manipulation is becoming increasingly popular among ordinary overweight people.

However, reducing the stomach is not such a fabulous way to maintain harmony and beauty as it seems at first glance. After such an operation, it is unlikely that life will ever be the same. After all, it is strict dietary restrictions that help maintain the result – and not “stretch” the stomach again.

Of course, with bariatrics, it is extremely difficult to overeat – even several months after the operation. But if a person is prone to compulsive overeating or suffers from other eating disorders, the situation can spiral out of control and seriously affect health.

By the way, in Western medical practice, patients are forced to lose weight before bariatrics. A person needs to get used to limiting food – and see if they have serious self-control issues. Sometimes the doctor can cancel the operation at the last moment: if the patient loosens up and cannot prove that he is ready to reduce the stomach.

National Bariatric Specialists also recommend that their patients change their diet in the final weeks before surgery. And it is strictly forbidden to overeat in the last days before the procedure! However, in most cases, a diet is prescribed only with severe obesity – when the body mass index exceeds twice the maximum health indicator and exceeds 50 units.

It is also useful to follow a diet before gastric banding – a kind of light version of such manipulation. This is why the medical community, despite considering stomach reduction the most effective way to fight obesity, still expresses concerns about the popularity of the technique. After all, being overweight and stress often complement each other, and without addressing the psychological issues, you can’t get rid of the habit of overeating!
