Why should you wash your hair before going to the hairdresser: many do not know it

Sometimes, in addition to a reminder of an upcoming appointment with a beauty salon, the administrator can also send a request to come to the master with strictly clean hair. And the point here is not at all good tone or specialist disgust. Everything is much simpler, but more important!

If you signed up for a haircut or styling, you no longer have to wash your hair before going to the hairdresser. The master will still wash it for you to remove dirt and remnants of styling products. Of course, you can also agree on the opposite: for example, brides wash their hair in advance to save time when preparing before the wedding. But this is a rare and situational exception.

Of course, a reminder to come to a date strictly with clean hair can be confusing to some. But if you’re scheduled for coloring, you really need to wash your hair well: the same day you’re scheduled, or before you go to bed, if you have to go to the salon early in the morning and you have a non greasy complexion hair type.

Unlike most procedures, coloring is performed on clean, dry hair. This is what allows the dye to penetrate the hair structure faster and better and not encounter obstacles in its path – in the form of a fatty layer and residues of cosmetics.

By the way, relatively recently, 10-15 years ago, it was recommended not to wash your hair for at least a few days before dyeing. Especially if it was to lighten curls.

Since the hairdressers used harsh bleach products with high hydrogen peroxide content in their work, the layer of grease on the strands helped, at least a little, but still reduced the level of damage. Now most stylists work with low oxide formulations – and additional care ingredients to improve hair quality. So, washing your hair before visiting a colorist is not only possible, but also necessary: to save time on the procedure and achieve the best effect from coloring.
