The goal is beautiful legs: what is a paraffin pedicure and how to do it at home

Why do we do pedicures? First, to enjoy smooth, soft and glowing skin on the legs. But did you know that paraffin wax is just perfect for achieving these goals?

Paraffin wax is different from regular wax – it melts at a temperature of 45-55 degrees, which allows it to be applied to the skin – no discomfort, just enveloping and comfortable warmth. Bonuses with pleasant sensations are attached:

  • exfoliation – hardening, paraffin removes dead cells from the epidermis;
  • hydration – heat opens the pores and the skin absorbs moisture better;
  • relaxation – the procedure has a relaxing and soothing effect on the legs;
  • improvement of blood circulation, which, in turn, allows you to get rid of edema.

Paraffin therapy has contraindications: cosmetic paraffin should not be used by those who have wounds or cracks on the skin, rashes or irritations. You should not do a paraffin pedicure for women with varicose veins, hypertension, diabetes or foot fungus. And, of course, the wax should be removed immediately if you feel a burning sensation, see redness, or notice that your feet are swollen – this indicates an allergic reaction.

How to do a paraffin pedicure at home

You will need:

  • 120 g of cosmetic paraffin – you can buy it at the pharmacy;
  • 30 grams of oil – coconut, olive or jojoba;
  • a few drops of essential oil;
  • microwave container;
  • medium sized brush.

Here’s what to do:

  1. Prepare your feet for the procedure – they must be dry and clean.
  2. Melt the wax in the microwave – check every 20 seconds to see if it has melted.
  3. Add the oils to the paraffin, stir. Check the wax – is it too hot?
  4. Apply a layer of paraffin on the foot using a brush, let cool. Repeat several times.
  5. Wrap your legs in plastic wrap, put on terry socks over them.
  6. Leave the mask for 15-30 minutes – do not move your fingers so that the paraffin does not crack.
  7. Remove the sock and the film, remove the paraffin, carefully wipe the feet with a dry cloth.
  8. Apply a moisturizer or oil, such as coconut oil or jojoba oil, to your skin.
  9. Enjoy – enjoy the incredible softness and tenderness of the skin!

You can repeat the paraffin pedicure two to three times a month – this will be enough to maintain its effect.
