Cat Dealers Perform Surprise Concert on Flight to Rio

Brazilian electronic music duo Cat Dealers surprised airplane passengers with a live concert during a flight between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, September 1. The mid-air performance was organized to mark the final countdown to the Rock in Rio music festival, which begins on Friday, September 4.

The live show took place on board a Latam passenger aircraft specially customized with the official visual identity of the festival. As part of the promotional campaign in Rio de Janeiro, branded Uber vehicles featuring interactive photo experiences inside are also operating across the city.

Rodrigo Padilla, the Global Chief Brand Officer of Latam Group, said the company aimed to bring the festival experience directly into the journey of fans traveling to the event. He added that introducing live music inside a flight serves to connect travel with music while creating a memorable experience for passengers on board.

Latam Airlines Group is Latin America's largest airline operator, running frequent domestic shuttle services between Sao Paulo, Brazil's financial hub, and the coastal city of Rio de Janeiro. The short air corridor regularly transports thousands of music fans and festival attendees heading to major cultural events in Rio.

Electronic Duo and Festival Stage

Cat Dealers is an acclaimed Brazilian electronic dance music duo formed by brothers Lugui and Pedro Pozzi. The pair has established a strong international presence in the global house music scene, regularly touring worldwide and playing prominent sets at major international music festivals.

The brothers are scheduled to perform on the opening day of Rock in Rio on Friday, September 4. Their show will take place on the New Dance Order stage, the festival area specifically designated to host top domestic and international electronic music acts.

Rock in Rio Lineup and Ticket Sales

First held in 1985, Rock in Rio is widely recognized as one of the world's largest music festivals, drawing hundreds of thousands of fans to Rio de Janeiro. The 2026 edition boasts a star-studded lineup of international headliners, including Elton John, Foo Fighters, Avenged Sevenfold, Calvin Harris, Black Eyed Peas, Ne-Yo, Maroon 5, Demi Lovato, J Balvin, Twenty One Pilots, and Rise Against.

Ticket sales for the multi-day festival have seen intense demand. Festival organizers announced at the end of July that they were opening new ticket batches for all seven days of the event to accommodate interested buyers.

Despite the additional tickets made available, single-day passes for dates featuring Calvin Harris, Elton John, and Maroon 5 are already completely sold out. The full performance timetable for each day of the festival has been made available as fans prepare for the opening shows on Friday.
