There was no more desirable man in the late USSR than Michele Placido – the sultry Italian stole the hearts of citizens of all ages from his first appearance on blue screens in 1986. Soviet Husbands even cut their hair and dressed “like Commissar Cattani” to please their wives even more!
Michele Placido was born on May 19, 1946 in Puglia, Italy. He started acting at the age of 20, but his work in the first four “classic” seasons of “Octopus” brought him real fame. Corrado Cattani remained Placido’s main role forever, although he had the opportunity to play many different characters on screen. He even played a Russian officer in our compatriot Vladimir Bortko’s film “The Afghan Break”.
