Ahead of the 2024 Cesars, fall favorite Anatomy for 2024 Lumer Award nominations

Which French films will dominate awards season? As every year, Lights Academy opens the ball of predictions by revealing the list of nominees.

In anticipation of the knowledge of the Caesars (published at the end of January 2024), the Academy of Lumières, composed of foreign press journalists (correspondents of the international press from 36 countries), gives a first overview of the most famous. French films and year appreciated.

With six nominations, Justin Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall is ahead of Cedric Kahn’s Goldman’s Court and Thomas Keil’s Animal Kingdom (five nominations each).

Those three feature films will be up for Best Picture at Lumière with Catherine Brea’s Last Summer (four nominations) and Clément Cogitore’s Golden Goth (three nominations). Four nominations also for Disco Boy for Giacomo Abruzzi and three for Le Rapissement by Iris Kaltenbeck.

On Monday, January 22, 2024, the Académie des Lumières will award 13 prizes (film, direction, screenplay, actor, actress, female debut, male debut, first film, animation, documentary, international co-production, picture and music). The winners will receive the Lumière, a trophy designed by the Monnaie de Paris, signed by Joaquín Jimenez.
