Flamengo and Corinthians struggle to advance for Luiz Henrique; Fluminense surrenders

The striker defends Betis, from Spain

With Fluminense withdrawing, Flamengo and Corinthians are competing to sign Real Bétis striker Luiz Henrique from Spain. However, both teams have some hurdles to overcome to move forward in talks.

The first challenge is to convince Luiz Henrique to return to Brazil. OR Throw away! he discovered that, even when Spain is in difficulty, the striker and his staff prioritize staying in Europe. A return to Brazilian football is on the back burner, although not ruled out.

People close to the player fear that a return to the country could represent a negative signal for the market. In other words, there is a suspicion that the athlete’s image for playing in Europe will be tarnished, as in the recent cases of Brazilians who “hit and returned” to the Old Continent.

Another obstacle in the negotiations is the request and the form of business desired by Real Betis. The Spanish club has no intention of loaning him out and wants a permanent transfer. The sums requested are around 18 million euros (R$95.4 million) for the 23-year-old athlete, high figures for Brazilian football.

Corinthians offered 2 million euros (R$10.7 million) for the loan with an obligation to buy set at 12 million euros (R$64.5 million). Flamengo’s proposal is similar, but the payment conditions presented by the Corinthians management are more palatable to the Spaniards. However, European teams have better conditions to present what Betis wants.

FLUMINENSE OUT OF PLAY

Fluminense “tightened the rope” and proposed to pay 1 million euros (5.3 million R$) for the loan to Real Betis, with a purchase obligation of 7.5 million euros (40.3 million of R$). The Spanish rejected the proposal and Tricolor das Laranjeiras withdrew from the negotiations.

Having ruled out the possibility of repatriating Luiz Henrique, Flu has presented a proposal for David Terans, who should not remain in Pachuca, Mexico, and has opened negotiations with the Seattle Sounders, of the MLS, for striker Léo Chú.
