Rosalía Lands Four Latin Billboard Nominations

Shakira, Karol G and Bad Bunny are among the nominees for artist of the year at the Latin Billboard Awards, with Spanish singer Rosalía breaking into the race as well, picking up nominations in four categories thanks to her album 'Lux' and her single 'La Perla'.

Rosalía is nominated with 'Lux' in two categories that could crown it album of the year. Her name also appears elsewhere on the list, including a song of the year nomination for 'La Perla', a track featured on Cadena 100's playlist, a sign of how deeply the Spanish artist has broken into the Latin market.

The Latin Billboard Awards, known in Spanish as the Premios Billboard a la Música Latina, are handed out annually to recognise achievement in Latin music based on chart and streaming performance. Rosalía, a Spanish singer known for blending flamenco with pop and experimental sounds, has built a growing following across Latin America in recent years, most recently with the release of 'Lux'.

Race for Artist of the Year

The artist of the year category pits Bad Bunny, Fuerza Regida, Karol G, Peso Pluma and Tito Double P against each other. Bad Bunny, the Puerto Rican star, and Karol G, the Colombian singer, also both appear in the tour of the year category alongside Pitbull, Ricardo Arjona and Shakira.

New artist of the year nominees are El De Las R's, Emmanuel Cortes, Gael Valenzuela, Herencia de Grandes and Omar Courtz.

The crossover artist of the year category includes Bruno Mars, Burna Boy, DJ Snake, Shenseea and Steve Aoki, while the Global 200 Latin artist of the year nominees are Bad Bunny, Beele, Fuerza Regida, Karol G and Shakira.

Rosalia's Four Nominations

Rosalia's four nominations span her album and her collaborative single. 'Lux' is up for two categories that could name it album of the year. Her track 'La Perla', recorded with Yahritza y Su Esencia, is nominated for Global 200 Latin song of the year alongside El Bogueto, Fuerza Regida, Anuel AA and Yung Beef's "Cuando No Era Cantante (Remix)", Fuerza Regida's "Marlboro Rojo", Peso Pluma and Tito Double P's "Dano", and W Sound, Beele and Ovy On The Drums' "La Plena (W Sound 05)".
