The Mask of Zorroa reinterpretation of the myth carried out by Antonio Banderas
In 1998, Antonio Banderas first appeared as an iconic character. The Mask of Zorro Offers us a new version of the story of the famous vigilante. In this, an elderly Don Diego de la Vega escapes from prison after having remained there for many years. Seeking revenge against his old enemy, the Spanish governor Don Rafael Montero, then meets a young bandit, Alejandro Murrieta. Then he sees in himself his successor in Zorro’s costume.
Directed by Martin Campbell, The Mask of Zorro is brought by an Antonio Banderas who is having a lot of fun in the role of Alejandro Murrieta. The film also counts in its ranks Anthony Hopkins in the role of Diego de la Vega. For one of his first important roles, Catherine Zeta Jones As for her, she plays Elena. This trio of actors works perfectly on screen. The character of Rafael Montero is played by Stuart Wilson.
